Presentation Description:
This session will provide explanation on the connection that language and literacy share. The importance of early literacy will be discussed. Motivational suggestions to help promote early language and literacy to children will be summarized.

Audience: Speech Pathology and Audiology Professionals

Learner Outcomes:

1. Participants will understand the connection that early language and early literacy share and how it pertains to the school-aged child.

2. Participants will understand the parent/caregiver’s role as part of the active educators to introduce both early language and early literacy to their children.

3. Participants will understand the SLP’s role as part of the active educators to introduce both early language and early literacy to their students.
